We started our morning with group times. With Liza we read books about Aboriginal culture and with Ekta we sang nursery rhymes and songs such as, Old MacDonald Had a Farm and Five Little Monkeys.
MeiTing set up a great activity to facilitate children’s gross motor skills and sensory development. They had to reach for the toy and stick it to the sticky tape. The children loved this and spent so much time playing with it.
Play dough is a part of our daily curriculum. It is a great way to enhance fine motor skills, improve creativity and imagination, develop hand-eye coordination and increase curiosity and knowledge.
Children had the chance to play with the instruments and sing Bonkers Beat songs.
Pretend play is very popular in Emerald and the children can benefit from it in many ways. They are developing their social skills, working out problems, experimenting and expressing their feelings.
