It’s Thursday!! And today we had a very special treat! The children all participated in a Christmas incursion with one of Santa’s helpers … an Elf!
The incursion today was all about Christmas and the children loved it! We sang Christmas songs, listened to Christmas stories with turtles, monkeys and crocodiles and laughed a lot. This was a great way to learn all about and understand the holiday of Christmas and what it’s all about. The children also experienced some new words, which will enhance their speech and language development.
Back in Emerald, the children had a lovely day working on their fine motor skills with drawing and building tall towers from wooden blocks. Block play can encourage early mathematics in early childhood and is great for balance and depth perception.
We all had a lovely and Christmassy day! 🙂
