It’s Thursday here in Emerald room and it’s a little bit rainy today!
But don’t worry! We’ve still had lots of fun participating in indoor activities as well as having a little bit of a splash once the rain stopped!
Our group times today were super fun and all about farm animals! We read books about farm animals and sang Old MacDonald!
The children were excited to get their bodies moving with some form of exercise, as it was raining in the morning! We stretched our bodies up high and our wide, really encouraging those gross motor movements for physical development, balance and coordination!
For our farm animal arts and crafts … today we painted pigs and coloured in cows! The children used a big sponge to paint their paper plates pink before sticking on a nose and eyes! Painting with a sponge is a fun and sensory activity that encourages cognitive development.
They also practiced their fine motor skills gripping colouring pencils when colouring in their cows. Moo!
Throughout the day the children have had to opportunity to explore the room and play with their friends! Today we have played with musical instruments, read books, dug in the sand pit, played with the cars on the car mat and had fun with the small world farm animals!
See you tomorrow! 🙂
