We had a lovely group time where we sang “Good Morning” to each other in different languages. It’s so important to share different cultures with our children!
Anzac Day is just around the corner, so we continued to talk about the significance of the 25thof April for Australians and New Zealanders. Tima talked with the children about the ‘’poppy’. They learnt this is the flower of remembrance.
The children enjoyed playing with the sensory box. We added spoons today and the children had to use their small muscles to pick the rosemary and poppies from the box. The children enjoyed exploring dough and rosemary to facilitate their cognitive and fine motor skills. They love making pretend ANZAC Biscuit with the dough.
The Aqua children continue to express their interest in watching the builders. To promote this interest, Tima and Gail set up an activity in the garden with small diggers, rollers, trucks and cranes.
During free play, the children enjoyed being outdoors as they were practicing their balancing skills, playing with Lego, and digging in the sandpit.
We will be learning about the letter B next week. Please bring in items that start with the letter B.
We all hope you have a wonderful weekend and enjoy Anzac Day. We’ll see you next week! 🙂
