What a beautiful sunny day today. At group time the children are made aware about been sun smart. Donna asked them what we need to wear when the sun is shining. ‘’Sunscreen’’ the children said. Well done Aqua, its important to stay safe in the sun.
We start the group by singing hello to everyone. The children love to sing along and name everyone’s name. They then turn on their listening ears as we read some stories.
After group time the children get busy in small groups. Today with Helena the children made their elephants ready for their jungle. They made the sound he makes and some children even made a trunk with their arm. Using fine motor skills they stuck reused newspaper onto the shape.
With Donna another small group continue to develop their cutting skills. When they finished cutting out their clothes, they made a picture of themselves. The children recognise body parts as they made arms, legs and their face on the paper.
The children are really enjoying Liza’s project about lights and shadows. This project has been ongoing for some time now, and today they placed a band aid box beside the paper to make the shadow and then they used fine motor skills to draw the shadow of the box. What an experience they are having.
Kavya learnt the initial of her name and traced it with her finger.
Outside there was lots happening, the sand pit was full as usual, they scooped and poured, made cakes for each other and sang happy birthday. It was very busy today in this area.
Leonardo and Edward, transported their small cars on the balance beam.
One of the most interesting experience was when the children helped Dominic our maintenance man blow the leaves in the garden. They had so much fun and laughed so much.
Inside, yoga was happening, Harvey loves yoga and is always eager to do the poses and completes them so nicely. Jake enjoyed exploring the kitchen area. Adeline loves to be the teacher and today she used Donna’s books to read a story for her.
