What a beautiful sunny Tuesday the Aqua group had. Outside the children were enjoying the sun and exploring in many areas. Leonardo, Harvey and Isaac were seen in the sand area as always transporting the truck around. It is one of the boy’s favourite things to do at Aqua.
Georgia and Elise had some time together in the sandpit. They used fine motor skills to scoop with the large shovels. With Henry the girls pretended to be the monkey’s swinging in the tree. Hamish enjoyed some down time with a book.
Jake enjoyed time at the table with Luciana, they played with the waffle blocks and stuck them together.
Inside the Lily, Adeline, Charlotte and Teacher Sara made a big house with the large blocks. The girls made a kitchen inside the house and fed the babies. The girls have a great imagination and are always thinking of ways to build houses or beds for their dolls.
At group time, in Donna’s group Elaria brought a book from home to share. She sat beside Donna and helped her hold it as Donna read it. After the story the children talked about the day’s of the week and the weather, Lily drew the sun on the board for us.
Learning Centre time was full of fun things. As it is science week, with Donna the children made their very own weather, we made tornado’s in a glass and then we made our own rain clouds. The children really enjoyed these experiments, it was lovely to hear them say ‘’Oooooooo’’ when they saw the blue food colouring fall through the shaving foam. The children had time to explore and try make their own tornado’s.
With Rosanna the children made rainbow’s, food colouring and paper towels where giving to the children and then they choose the colour they wanted and dropped the paint onto the towel, which formed the rainbow. They loved this experiment and laughed when they saw their rainbow.
With Nelson, the children picked the right colour and place it on the cone. Isabelle Kay, you are very clever and always picked the right colour.
Aqua would like to welcome our new friend from Emerald who is settling this week, Zoe. She had fun with the rain experiment with Donna. We now have 3 girls that have joined us from emerald and already they are settled very well. They are enjoying exploring the new areas.
What a fun Tuesday we had!!
