The morning started with some yoga with Alejandra, they used listen skills and were so amazing at completing the poses. Yoga is a great start to the children’s day, it helps them relax and get ready for their day ahead.
Outside in the warm weather there was lots happening, the children enjoyed the doll area set up with the beds and babies. Adeline and Charlotte love to pretend to be the teachers and patted the dolls to sleep. They used words like ‘’ssshhhh’’ as they comforted their dolls.
In the cubby house the children enjoyed some stories with Alejandra.
The sand pit was a hit as always, the children manipulated the tools to scoop and pour the sand from one bucket or spade to the next.
Charlie and Henry became builders and built the metro they told Donna, ‘’for our cars’’ they said.
Some children joined Thomas at the table and made some tall towers, that nearly reached the sky.
Inside dancing was a hit. Celina listened to the beat and moved her body.
Group times was full of stories about the zoo animals and jungle, songs to wish everyone a good day. We welcome each other every morning.
Learning Centre time we showed off our ever developing fine motor skills and moulded the dough into snakes and balls.
With Alejandra we are learning shapes in Spanish, we repeat the word as we find the match.
With Liza we continue our healthy food project, we made pears today and spoke about the importance healthy choices are for our bodies. Today we used bubble wrap to make our pear. Leonardo especially liked when the bubbles popped, we could hear his laughter all around the yard.
We visually saw a picture of an elephant and then made our own using grey paint.
With Donna we have started a group project. We are making bird feeders to hang in our yard. Today some of the children helped make the roof for it. We went on a nature hunt and picked leaves to make our birds more safe from all types of weather, as they stop to eat some food. The children are so excited to get it finished and hanging in the yard.
