Happy Monday everyone! On this beautiful sunny day, the Aqua explorers started their day off with yoga, the enjoyed posing different animals and practice their breathing. Meanwhile, other children were busy assisting Helena in play dough making. They loved exploring the texture of ingredients and stirring the mixture together. Outside in sandpit, children were busy making pretend cakes and running their vehicles around the sandpit. At the yard, some children like Isabelle, Charlie, Henry and Evan pretended to make sandwiches with leaves.

The Aqua explorers were divided into three groups for story time. With Helena, the children listened to some of their favourite stories such as ‘Cows in the kitchen’, ‘Never smile at the crocodile’, and ‘Dirty Bertie’. They couldn’t wait to sing the ice cream song as they get a turn with the ice cream props. With Katherine the children revisited the days of the week as well as the weather. They enjoyed singing different songs. With Nelson, the children laughed at Nelson’s stories and enjoyed listening to the dinosaur book. Experiences such as this provided opportunities for children to extend of their cognitive and language skills.

During learning centre, the children were invited to practice their problem-solving skills with puzzles and lock box.  They were also invited to use their imagination skills with play dough. With Nelson, the explorers were to jump, crawl and balanced through obstacle course. The explorers expressed creativity with easel painting. With Alejandra, the children were introduced to different letters of the alphabet through the alphabet game. The Aqua explorers had such a busy day today!
