We had special visitors in Burns bay cottage today. We were so excited to see the Christmas show called ‘Santa’s mum and the baby elf’.
We all gathered into Crimson room and enjoyed the show. A little girl called Louise and her mum were there. Louise was too excited as it was Christmas eve and she didn’t want to fall asleep. So her mum offered to her to tell a poem. We listened to her poem, sang Christmas songs and danced to them.
After Louise went to bed, Santa’s mum came to visit us. She said she needs our help!
Amariah helped Santa’s mum by ringing the bell in time to the music.
Nicholas helped her decorating the Christmas tree.
We laughed a lot and had a great time.
Archie, Teos, Max and Finn K worked together in the sandpit to dig a deep hole. Teos commented, “We are having a digging race!”. Archie buried the toy in that hole, Finn K said, “We’ll dig it up later!”.
Ibhan and Owen had a lovely dramatic play in the yard. Ibhan was Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer, Owen was Santa Clause in a sleigh.
Another wonderful dramatic play happened in the sandpit. Eliza, Harvey D, Oliver, Eleanor, Finn K, Ibhan and Zoe collaboratively built a sleigh. Zoe and Eleanor sat at the front of the sleigh as the reindeer, and others got into the sleigh. After everyone was in place, Zoe announced: “Let’s go to the North Pole!”.
In 59, we made Christmas ornaments in clay. We coloured and glittered the decorations and they turned out great. We’ll have to wait for them to dry, but we can’t wait to take them home and hang them on our Christmas tree!
