Happy Hump Day everyone. Today the children had such fun exploring in the Aqua room. As always there was lots of talk and laughter happening throughout the day.
A group of the children started the morning off in the home corner. They made many breakfast, Lunch and dinner for each other.
Pretend play has many benefits for the children, some being promoting learning about themselves and the world around them. They learn social skills, and also for language development.
Outside the sandpit was full of the Aqua group, they made many cakes and sandcastles with Trish.
Nicholas displayed good balancing skills as he walked across the beam.
Alice and Amelia enjoyed time building side by side. They made a big house and tall towers. Della also enjoyed exploring this area.
Iris made a potato head with funny eyes, nose and a mouth.
Inside Henry showed Donna his book he was looking at and said it was a monster.
Group time was full of interest learning subjects. With Donna the children looked at a educational video all about Naidoc week, we also looked at the many different animals in the land of Australia. The children were so focused and had great listening ears on.
With Liza the children started a project today on the importance of keeping our hands clean and how to stop germs spreading. Liza also shared pictures on how to clean our hands properly using soap and water.
After group time came learning centre time and it was full of fun activities, with Reeti the children are making winter clothes, today they made gloves.
With Liza, the children had the opportunity to put germs on their fingers using soap and paper to represent the germs and virus, they then wash them off using soap and water. It was a great experiment and the children enjoyed the experience.
With Donna the children made a painting using sticks for their brushes. We used black paper, red and yellow paint to represent The Australian Aboriginal Flag. The children listen as Donna explained Black for the Aboriginal people of Australia, Yellow for the sun and red represents the red earth. They enjoyed the experience and spent a long time on their creative art painting.
With Karen the children did some beading, they displayed amazing fine motor and hand and eye coordination skills as they easily placed the beads onto their pipe cleaner.
Carolina and a group enjoyed calming their bodies in time for sleep by doing some yoga. The children are so very clever at making the pose asked of them.
