Tuesday is here and the children in the Emerald room have been very busy participating in lots of lovely activities for NAIDOC week! 😊

The children enjoyed lots of different group times throughout the day with different educators! The educators like to take this time to engage the children in meaningful conversations and social interactions. It’s the perfect time to introduce the children to NAIDOC week and celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We had so much fun jumping around, stretching our bodies and being silly during yoga! What a great way to develop our gross motor skills!

We used sticks to paint on even bigger sticks! The children enjoyed this fun activity and learnt about Aboriginal artwork!

The children used their fine motor skills to place small stones onto different Aboriginal symbols and create ‘dot style’ paintings of boomerangs or paint on leaves!

The children have also been exploring a more natural type of playdough … clay, a material that Aboriginal people use to build with!

Thank you for such a fun and busy day of learning and exploration 😊
