Hello, Crimson families. We hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Just a quick reminder to families: we like to remind you to bring a hat for your child. And please write your child’s name on it. Thank you.

At group time, we gathered on the mat, and welcomed Edward R! He transitioned from the Magenta room today to join the Crimson room. Welcome to Crimson room, Eddie!

After, we listened to our friend’s news. Today, Laura and Edward R presented us with the news.

Laurashowed us the cake book. She explained “This is a cake book tell us how to make cakes. I help mummy to make the icing and then I lick the spoon. I helped her in the new kitchen. It was my playroom but now there is new bench. Nicky asked the question “Where did you get the book from?”, Laura answered, “My mummy got it when she was little.”

Edward R – showed us a puzzle. He said, “This is a red train’s puzzle. It goes super fast. They go fast because They are rescue trains.”. Oscar T asked the question “Where did you get it?”, Eddie answered, “In the shop. I went with my mummy, daddy and sisters. “. Ava also asked the question “Why did you want it?”, Eddie’s answer was “Because it goes super fast.”

Thank you, Laura and Eddie, to share the news! The topic for this week is ‘Countries of interest’. Ideas include traditional clothes, pictures, flags, books about the country or written in the language of the country.

After, it was time for the learning centre.

Children from the Kookaburra and Platypus groups engaged in a variety of activities in the room. In group time, they had a discussion about the competition. We don’t win every time, sometimes we lose, but it’s important to give our best. After, Ava, Julia, Nicky, Lily and Belian worked hard to make playdough. They showed their abilities to measure all the ingredients, to wait for their turns to stir and to respect each other. Children followed the instructions in order to have better results.

The children in the Possum group spent time on the deck. Children sang their favourite “Continents song” together and had a look world map with each countries’ flags. We talked about where Mum and Dad came from and which is the national flag. After, Arya, Laura, and Oscar W decided to choose their favourite flag to draw. Archie, Teos, and Thomas had a great time with the spaceship and space mat.

In the afternoon, Elliot had super fun with water and frogs.

It was a lovely start to the week. See you tomorrow.
