Hello, Crimson families. It was supposed to rain again today, but we are lucky that it hasn’t started yet so far. Children enjoyed outside play as well as indoor play.
During group time, gathered on the mat and started talking about the Christmas concert. They gave each other ideas of which Christmas songs they would like to sing. We have also made a list of songs other than Christmas songs. After, we listened to our friend’s news. The topic for this week and next week and ‘Spring season’. All children are welcome to bring something that is associated with spring. Some of the examples are flowers, animals, drawings, pictures, and books etc….
Charlotte– Wristband shaped like a watch
“This is not a watch. This is a strawberry flavoured lip balm. I got it from my grandma.”
Eddie – Dinosaur and drawing on yellow paper
“I made this drawing. I used yellow because yellow is a spring colour.”
Arya – Marble
“I found it at home. You can see spring flower inside of the marble. Flower is in the middle.” Shona – Book“I brought a book because this book is called ‘In blossom’. My favourite page is this one.”
Belian – Book
“This is a spot book. Spot is doing gardening just like we did. My favourite page is this page because it’s so funny. That’s his dad.”
Edward A – story about the spring treasure hunt
“I went to spring treasure hunt in real life. We had to get first clue then go to second clue and next one and next one. We needed to find a cards. I got the last one. I needed to go back to café and got chocolate. I went with my daddy, mummy and little brother.”
After, children were divided into two groups and worked in different areas.
In the room, a group of children continued to explore emotions. Today, they listened to the story about Anger and were introduced to the way to calm self-down. During the discussion, they were able to address that throwing things or hurting people when angry is not the right thing to do. Then we thought about what alternatives we could do. After, they were invited to make Angry paintings/drawings.
On the deck, another group of children observed flowers that Gail brought. They were so colourful and pretty so they decided to paint them. The children used magnifying glasses to observe every detail and expressed their idea of flowers.
We hope you have a wonderful afternoon. Stay safe everyone!
