Hello, Crimson families. It was another beautiful weather! Children had a great time in the room, on the deck and in the yard.

During group time, we gathered on the mat and talked about Halloween. We discussed why do we decorate pumpkins for Halloween. Some of them said to scare people, other said to welcome skeleton and witches.

After, we listened to our friends’ news. The topic for this week and next week is ‘Halloween’. All children are welcome to bring books, photos, costumes, or share stories.

Belian – white ghost light

“I brought this from home. This is for Halloween. I can switch it on and light it up. “

Edward – costume

“I wear skeleton costume today. This is for Halloween. I chose it because I like skeleton. I also brought a pumpkin costume. I have a pumpkin hat too.”

Eddie – card

“This is my Pokémon card. This card is for Halloween because this is a scary card.”

Teos – truck

“I brought this monster truck to show you. This is related to Halloween because this is a monster truck.”

Leo, Imri and Jeffrey shared their special things with us. Leo showed us his new water bottle. Imri shared his favourite books. Jeffrey brought a truck that can transform.

Children spent their learning centre time in two groups.

In the room, children were busy working on making various props for the story ‘Room on the broom.’. After listening to the story, they used their fine motor skills to cut felt out in the shape of a witch, a broom or a pot of potion. And then, they demonstrated their memory and recreated the story using them.

On the deck, another group of children continued to learn about the Sun. They again listened to the storybook ‘Sun, One in a Billion.’ and reviewed the facts about it. After, children added jagged edges with yellow paint to the kitchen paper, which they coloured red and yellow yesterday, to make it look more like the sun. They were amazed how they could make it jaggy with folk!

In the afternoon, boys were super busy working in the sandpit. They cooperatively built a water pond!!!!

Have a wonderful afternoon everyone! See you tomorrow.
