Hello, Crimson families. It was a bit chilly in the morning. The children were still very excited. Because it was Science Day today!!
During group time, we gathered on the mat and listened to our friends’ news. The topic for this week is ‘Getting ready for the big school’, or ‘Something I am good at.’. Imri, Arda and Charlotte came in front and shared their stories.
After that, it was time to go learning centre plus science!!
The Science experience has been set up indoors. Today we made our own Christmas decorations. They are not ordinary decorations; can you guess what they are made from? We used cow’s milk!!!! We mixed cow’s milk, special liquid and food colouring together in the container until lumps were formed. We then strained it to remove the water and punched it out with Christmas cookie moulds. All that’s left to do is to sprinkle on the glitter in the colour of our choice and wait for it to dry. It will take some time to dry, but we are looking forward to seeing the finished piece.
On the deck, children were invited to create ID cards. They cut and paste their own photos and wrote personal information such as names, age, or which big school will they go to. It was a very good fine motor exercise and also a good way to practise writing.
Have a wonderful afternoon everyone! See you tomorrow.
