Today we had a very relaxing but fun Friday. Molly, Isla H and Iris started their morning at doctor corner. They had so much fun been doctors and examining the sick teddy bear’s heart and the blood pressure. Pretend play permits us to express ourselves in a way we feel comfortable whilst letting our imagination to progress.
A small group joined Daniel on the mat to build towers and knock them over; it was their favourite part today on the mat. Outside in the sandpit some built castles or made the wheel turn by putting sand in it. We always love the sandpit area.
After morning tea we gathered for group time and Durshi talked about the Earth hour. She asked us to remind our families to try to switch off electricity to join the earth hour at 8.30PM on this Sunday. Then we were split in to two groups with Komal and Daniel and read some stories and continued our discussion about the earth hour.
At Show and tell:
Isla H: “One is a bracelet and one is an anklet. Mummy brought it for me from the shops.
Henry: It a paw patrol ball. Mummy bought it and it is blue. It is bouncing on the ground and rolls.
Chloe: It is Elmo and it walks. Mum bought it. Its nose is orange. He gives cuddles to me.
At literacy group time we learnt that the planet we live is called earth. Then we painted earth to make a piece of art for Earth hour.
In self-selected activities, we enjoyed puzzles, colouring, dancing, sand pit, dinosaur corner, home corner and play dough. The self-selected activities allow us to reflect our self-identities as well as our sense of agency is promoted.
Have a great weekend and see you on Monday.
